Contractor Services

ESE is proud to provide consulting and technical support services to public and private landowners for planning and development of agricultural water management systems.

Planning

ESE offers the service of our technical service providers (TSP) to create conservation activity plans CAP130 for Drainage Water Management and Sub-Irrigation systems. These plans are financially supported by the NRCS through cost share programs such as the Environmental Incentives Quality Program (EQIP). These payments can be used for the design, installation, and operation of your water management system. Allow ESE to walk you through the process and create a one of a kind, quality conservation plan.

Management

ESE offers management services to our producers. Our conservation activity plans (CAP130) include a full list of management instructions. By use of our patented automated control structures, we are able to raise and lower water levels while never stepping foot in the field. Current research is focusing on having fully autonomous systems by allowing the control structure to respond to various real-time sensors in the field. If manual structures are used, we provide recommended set points and management schedules in our plans.

Monitoring

At ESE we are able to fully monitor and measure environmental conditions such as rainfall, flow rates, water levels, and other desirable variables. By use of computer models, we are able to quantify nutrient transport reductions delivered by certain management practices. Systems deployed in the field are sustained through solar panels so site visits are drastically decreased.

Design

Through our conservation activity plans (CAP130), we offer complete designs for Drainage Water Management and Sub-Irrigation systems. Our highly experienced staff will provide you with the best possible design for your field. We understand the entire process of designing and installing a system. With this experience, we take into account such factors as ease of management, cost of structures, pipes, and connections, and ease of installation for your contractor. Our designs have recently expanded to now include woodchip bioreactors and saturated buffers. All the same factors are taken into consideration and we are very excited to see the potential for these nutrient reducing strategies.
